Join Jason Ward, from the YouTube series “Birds of North America”, on an adventure at the Maumee Bay State Park. You’ll have the opportunity to discuss spark birds while looking for that Townsend’s Warbler he missed when he was at The Biggest Week in 2019 filming. Check out the “Birds of North America: Young Birders of the Buckeye State” episode for more information.

Maumee Bay State Park offers excellent birding opportunities. Wetlands near the nature center are great for shorebirds and waterfowl, plus warblers and songbirds alike. In addition to marsh and swamp wetlands, several prairies and meadows add more diversity to the park's landscape.

Tom and Scott have graciously agreed to donate 100% of the proceeds from this trip to the Ohio Young Birders Club. Kenn and Kimberly Kaufman are considered one of America's top "birding couples." They've dedicated their lives to the cause of birding and bird conservation, and traveled the globe in pursuit of some of the world's most bizarre and beautiful birds. No matter how far they roam, though, the Kaufmans have a special fondness for Northwest Ohio and Magee Marsh -- and they can't wait to share the experience with you. This walk always sells out VERY quickly, so plan to reserve your spot as soon as registration opens.

Ramble around Maumee Bay State Park with noted bird ID expert and field guide author (The Shorebird Guide and Crossley ID Guide series), Richard Crossley. Maumee Bay State Park provides multiple habitat types to search for some of the 278 species (35 species of warblers) recorded on eBird. Multiple wetlands, prairies, and uplands provide a picturesque backdrop for Richard to share his knowledge on how he observes birds.
