Join us for an intimate evening with acclaimed actress, author, and birder Lili Taylor as we discuss her book Turning to Birds. Discover how birding helped her slow down, reconnect, and notice the beauty in everyday life. She’ll be joined by Kimberly Kaufman, Executive Director at Black Swamp Bird Observatory. Together, they’ll explore the power of paying attention to the natural world around us. There will be ample time for the audience to speak with Lili, as well. The Q&A will be followed by a book signing. 

Award-winning actress Lili Taylor is famous for her roles in Mystic Pizza, Dogfight, Short Cuts, I Shot Andy Warhol, High Fidelity, Ransom, and Say Anything.  But did you know that Lili is also an avid birder who attends the Biggest Week every year?

Lili knows birds now, but it wasn't always this way. During a much-needed break from her work as an actor, she sought silence and instead found the bustling, symphonic world of birds that had always existed around her. Since then, she has kept a keen eye pressed to her binoculars in search of vivid stories that elevate the everyday, if only one pays attention.
