Since 2009, Black Swamp Bird Observatory (BSBO) has been committed to advocating for equity, diversity, and inclusion in all spaces, especially in the outdoors. Birding is an activity that enriches the lives of millions of people, through the sights and sounds of birds and the habitats they visit. Birding is also an activity for everybody. Whether it’s introducing someone new to the wonders of birding and the outdoors or amplifying voices that have historically been underrecognized, inclusivity makes the birding community stronger, more vibrant, and more representative of the world we live in.
